A weeknote, starting Monday 26 June 2023
Late to publish this week due to coming down with a migraine at the time I’d usually sift my notes and pan for gold, or at least something with a bit of value.
One of the mental side effects of my migraines is a sense of being overwhelmed. All of a sudden it’s like all of my filters are off and there’s just too much to comprehend.
So this week it’s a quick one with some things that caught my attention, and not much by way of reflection.
- Explode on impact by Toby Lowe
- Three reasons why government should hire more writers by Giles Turnbull
- This LinkedIn post from Peter Merholz about leadership
- Who opened the door for me in my career by Justine Middleton | Senior Designer & Mum
- Strategic UX research is the next big thing by Jared M. Spool
- 4 key lessons I learned to successfully manage customer journey management across silos by Wim Rampen
- I love the Rocketship Files from Nikola Goger and friends:
Follow two Heads of Profession on a mission to make a real difference. We are writing about how we create conditions to get people to collaborate to solve problems that really hold us back.
I’m looking forward to visiting Electric Daisy, a great new space in Derby created by the amazing Down To Earth team.
One thing I could manage over the weekend was some drawing with my youngest, he drew Battle Cats characters inspired by Pokémon, I drew a pigeon (one of his favourite birds). Turns out birds are one of the things I draw reasonably well :-)
